Sustainable Geo was founded to tackle the pressing groundwater and climate challenges of the 21st century. Groundwater is under threat from overuse, contamination, and climate change, while climate resilience demands forward-thinking strategies across water management and beyond.

With dual licensing in engineering and business consulting, Sustainable Geo bridges technical analysis and strategic insight. We offer integrated solutions, from aquifer assessments and contamination mitigation to climate risk advisory and resource planning, ensuring our clients align environmental compliance with operational resilience.

About the founder Dr. Jürgen Scheibz

Long story short: I hold a Master of Business (Energy) from BI Oslo and IFPEN Paris, as well as an MSc and PhD in Geology from the University of Vienna. My academic path continued with PostDoc positions at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI) and the Technical University of Vienna.

Since 2005, I have worked and lived abroad for more than a decade, covering 18 countries from 78°N to 42°S. I held senior positions at Terra Environmental Technology (a management buyout from OMV), NGI, Multiconsult, and AFRY - gaining experience across diverse cultures, project sizes, and sectors including infrastructure, energy, and mining. My core expertise lies in environmental advisory, groundwater, engineering geophysics, and the physical impacts of climate change.

After returning to Vienna post-Covid for personal reasons, I served as interim managing director of the Austrian subsidiary of an engineering firm before founding SGE in 2024.
